About

I’m a violinist, arranger, composer, and educator, currently based in Montreal.

My studies have taken me from New York and Philadelphia to the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore for my Bachelors and Masters degrees, and later to McGill University in Montreal, where I completed an Artist Diploma. I’ve had the chance to perform internationally, including Banff, Orford, Milan, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Köln, Lucerne, and New York, and have worked with conductors such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Alan Gilbert, Susanna Mälkki, Kent Nagano, and Simon Rattle.

I have been fortunate to learn from many generous mentors over the years. My principal teachers include Joey Corpus, Kimberley Fisher, Violaine Melançon, André Roy, and Andrew Wan. I have also received coachings and participated in masterclasses with Elmar Oliveira, Boris Garlitsky, Ida Kavafian, the Miró Quartet, the Brentano Quartet, and members of Ensemble intercontemporain and Klangforum Wien, among others.

I am active as both an orchestral and chamber musician, and have produced a variety of chamber concerts. One example I’m particularly proud of, Vitrine Résonance, was a collaboration between string players from Montreal and Toronto and local luthiers from the Collectif Lutherie Montréal. This project showcased brand new instruments alongside gems from the chamber music repertoire for string quartet and octet.

As an arranger, I’ve worked with a wide variety of material, from medieval plainchant to traditional classical repertoire to today’s popular music, including string quartet arrangements featured in Fever’s internationally successful Candlelight Concerts. Teaching has been an important part of my life for over 15 years, and I love working with students of all ages to help them grow both technically and musically.

I have a deep appreciation for the craft of today’s makers and perform on a violin made jointly by Philip Ihle and Gábor Draskóczy in 2023, with bows by Gilles Nehr, François Malo, and David Samuels.

When I’m not playing the violin, I enjoy photography, watercolour painting, travel, and cooking. Life at home is also kept lively thanks to my two cats, Keanu and Negroni.
